Guilherme Borges holds a PhD and an MA in Sociology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, where he also earned his BA in Social Sciences. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at RSSD and serves as the coordinator of the training caucus for this project. He is also affiliated with the Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento and the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project, based at the University of Ottawa. Drawing on these affiliations, his research focuses on comparative and transnational approaches to religious-political engagements, public education, pluralism, and multiculturalism. These analyses are funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation, which also supported his stay as a visiting scholar at the University of Ottawa (2024–2025).
