Dr Chris Miller

Chris Miller is a sociologist of religion, and currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa. He was previously the JHI-CDHI Digital Humanities Postdoctoral Fellow with the Jackman Humanities Institute at the University of Toronto. Prior to this, he was a researcher with the Nonreligion in a Complex Future project. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo, an MA from Saint Mary’s University, and a BA from the University of Toronto.

His current projects examine death, dying, and nonreligion, through analyses of obituaries, Death Cafés, and green burials. In other research projects, he explores how New Religious Movements engage with or are portrayed in popular culture.
