Adriano Godoy holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Brazilian Center for Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP), where he is a member of the Research Group on Religions in the Contemporary World and of the project “Religious Pluralism and Diversities in Post-Constitutional Brazil”. Previously, he was a visiting researcher at Leiden University (Netherlands), Utrecht University (Netherlands), and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). His research interests lie at the intersections of religion, ecology, ethnicity and aesthetics.

This seminar will address the articulations between ecology and ethnicity that shape the socio-environmental policies carried out by the Catholic Church in the Amazon
