Towards decolonial critical dialogue between the North and South in the University in Africa.

William Jethro Mpofu is a researcher and teaching and learning co-ordinator at the Wits Centre for Diversity Studies (WiCDS), at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Mpofu is also a research fellow at Good Governance Africa (GGA) in Rosebank, Johannesburg, South Africa, covering the Southern African region. Mpofu’s research interests are in the Philosophies of Liberation of the Global South, Decoloniality and Decolonisation, Pan-Africanisms, World-Systems (geopolitics), and Critical Diversity Studies. Mpofu has partnered with 15 South African universities in the transformation and decolonisation of the curriculum and the disciplines, the use of African languages in the decolonisation of higher education, and epistemic diversity. Some of Mpofu’s media articles are published by: The Elephant, the Pan-African Review, Africa is a Country, News Hawks, News24, and other outlets. Mpofu is extensively published, regionally and internationally. His latest books are: Robert Mugabe and the Will to Power in an African Postcolony, Decolonising the Human: Reflections from Africa on difference and oppression, and Africa Otherwise: Essays in the Philosophy of Liberation.
