Speaker: Prof Bhekithemba Mngomezulu
Description: Bheki Mngomezulu is a full Professor of Political Science and International Relations. He is the Director of the Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy (CANRAD) at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa. Prof. Mngomezulu holds seven academic qualifications from three South African universities and two from Rice University in Texas, USA. He has been a Visiting Professor at universities in Romania and Sweden. His books include Foreign Policy Posture in Post-Apartheid South Africa: Consistencies and Ambiguities (2020) and one of his most recent articles is titled ‘Debunking the “New Dawn” Myth: A Comparative Analysis of South Africa and Zimbabwe’. His research interests include comparative politics, identity politics, elections, higher education, and traditional leadership.
