Paula Montero is an Anthropology Professor at the State University of São Paulo  (USP – Brazil) and a Senior Researcher at the Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento. PhD in Political Science at the University of São Paulo, Brazil; she was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Latin American and Iberian Studies at Columbia University in 1984 and a visiting Professor at the University of Chicago in 1996. She is the leader of a Brazilian Project on Religious Pluralism and Diversity in Brazil, granted by Fapesp. Her research interests focus on the intersection of religion, race. law, and pluralism.
