Prof Thabisani Ndlovu
Professor Thabisani Ndlovu serves as the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Walter Sisulu University. He is a professor of literary and cultural studies, focusing on the intersections of race, class, ethnicity, and gender in Southern Africa. As a rated researcher by the National Research Foundation of South Africa, his work is highly regarded and frequently cited. His research explores various themes, which include literary representations of human rights, nationhood, monuments and memorialisation, migration, masculinities, the black middle class, and whiteness. Professor Ndlovu has received several academic fellowships and is a member of the editorial boards of two prominent journals. In addition to his academic pursuits, he is also a writer of short fiction, with his stories appearing in various anthologies, including the Caine Prize for African Writing in 2009. Prior to joining Walter Sisulu University in 2014, he was the Deputy Director of the International Human Rights Exchange Programme at the University of the Witwatersrand.
